Where did most of the Irwin data come from? Is this your personal research or is it from other researchers that have posted data on the web? Has the data been verified? How do I submit data? Is printing data from the site an option? Have you had any response from CIA?

The source of information is from a wide variety of sources. The purpose of creating the outline (on the non-on line version) is to ultimatelly receive digital copies of a large library pertaining to Irwins and related families. The completion date is unknown and probably no time soon (if ever).

All data has not been personnally verified.

The online version of the outline was a school project. I do not know how much longer this site will be actively managed or updated. The on-line version is growing but requires a lot of work. Not all of which is going to come from us. In fact, at some point, it is intended that this site will become a forerunner to a seperate site run by someone else. My primary research activities are Longwell, Longwill, Langwell and Related Families (please click on the Longwell link - As with this site, the source and other supporting data are not on the on-line version).

As it relates to the Clan Irwin Association, I do not know how to answer this question. The Clan leadership is attempting to gain control of my Uncle's paper based records and for legal reasons I probably should not respond directly to this question.

The posting I made was for members of the Clan, that like my Uncle, believe in the free sharing of information on Irwin decendents.

If you wish to contribute something for the site, I am more than willing to give it to the site administer for adding it to the site. Just E-Mail it to lcml@aol.com.

You or anyone else that sees the site is free to copy from it. How easy or hard it is I do not know. Copy/Paste or print page works the best.

Let me know who you are looking for, let me know an E-Mail address and I will send over the line you are interested in. Or if you like, what I did for my primary project, was to send a gedcom so you do not have to retype everything. Also, this is not a condition of sending the file on the line you are interested in, but it would be appriciated if a gedcom file (assume on-line use in what is sent) be forwarded.

Thank-you:

I am a member of the Clan Irwin Association and am in total support of this site in memory of Harry E. Irwin. He has helped so many people and am glad to know that even after his death his files will continue to help those people with an interest in their Irwin genealogy. As a member of the Clan Irwin Association I find it extremely offensive that the association is attempting to gain control of Harry's private files.

I too have been a member of CIA. My experience was not very good. I provided them with my data but was disappointed in the help I received. I am not suprised at their desire to obtain your uncle's research. In the CIA's hands I feel it would become necessary to pay for viewing Harry's data.

I am so totally happy to have found this site. On the Irwin Genealogy, there are no dates or places, but from the names, I can trace a known many Great Uncle Ellis Irwin who had a brother name William Fisher Irwin, which was also my father's name and his before him. My direct GF died when my Dad was only two and we know little about him. This gives us a connection and somewhere to go. Thanks so much.
